Central Park


Central Park is one of the most popular visiting spots in New York City, New York. Located in mid-Manhattan with an array of activities from biking to hiking.

Central Park was established in 1857 on 843 acres of city owned land [6% of Manhattan] and was designed by Fredrick Law Olmstead. Today it is is owned be the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

With 42 million visitors each year, Central Park is a notorious tourist attraction. Individuals of all ages cam be entertained with 21 playgrounds, over 9,000 benches to sit on, and 50 miles of walking paths. Although people flock to Central Park to be one with nature in the heart of the Big Apple, New York natives are able to find a variety of different activities in the park.


From May to October, Central Park hosts concert events at their iconic main-stage at Rumsey Playfield. These exciting concert events which are usually free and open to the public bring amusement to those who attends.
